Shona Wynd

Senior Programme and Partnership Manager, Global Institute for Disease Elimination (GLIDE)

Introduction

Dr Shona Wynd has over 25 years’ experience in global health, policy and programme development and analysis, partnership building, and aid architecture. She worked with UNAIDS for 14 years in a number of positions, including Senior Adviser to the Chief of Staff, and most recently as the Senior Regional Programme Adviser in the Regional Support Team in Bangkok. Dr Wynd coordinated the 2016 High Level Meeting on Ending HIV and AIDS which ended with the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) Political Statement on Ending AIDS. With a focus on social development, health systems strengthening, HIV and gender, Dr Wynd has previously worked as a Social Development Adviser with the UK Department for International Development, a Senior Social Scientist with James Cook School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and now as the Senior Programme Partnership Manager with GLIDE.
